We are currently looking for an Color & Material Designer (m/w/d) for our client in the Cologne area.
Your Tasks:
Create and develop innovative, industry-leading Color & Material (C&M) designs that meet product definition, timing, and cost targets
Collaborate with design partners to deliver best-in-class visualizations
Translate consumer research and imagery (from co-creation processes) into compelling C&M design theme proposals
Contribute to the definition and delivery of the C&M design strategy
Work closely with the Interior and Exterior Design teams to ensure relevant C&M proposals that provide Ford vehicles with a competitive advantage
Coordinate and take ownership of models, prototypes, and properties that represent C&M designs
Support senior management reviews with 2D/3D C&M proposals and properties
Maintain a broad awareness of trends (socio-economic, technology, interior, C&M design) and integrate this knowledge into daily work and design reviews
Actively contribute to a professional and creative studio environment that drives design excellence
Deliver high-quality C&M imagery and 3D samples that translate consumer feedback into forward-looking design proposals
Manage multiple programs from sketch phase through to final product
Collaborate with external suppliers to translate creative ideas into production-ready solutions
Job requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in automotive exterior or interior design
Strong creative design background with expertise in delivering high-quality, future-oriented material concepts
Deep understanding of materials and design, combined with technical knowledge in feasibility and industrialization processes
Ability to prepare and deliver professional design presentations for senior management
Proactive and independent working style combined with strong creativity and innovation spirit
Excellent collaboration skills, both within the design studio and with external partners
Expert-level proficiency in relevant software: Photoshop, VRED, PowerPoint, After Effects, etc
